Steven Harper, M.D. - Colon/Rectal Surgery

Steven Harper graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a B.A. before attending Temple University School of Medicine. He completed his residency in general surgery at Abington Memorial Hospital and his fellowship with Ferguson Hospital. He is licensed by the states of Pennsylvania and Michigan as well as the Drug Enforcement Administration to practice medicine. He holds certifications for Advanced Trauma Life Support, and Basic and Advanced Cardiac Life Support.

Dr. Harper’s awards and honors include a member of Phi Beta Kappa at the University of Pennsylvania, the F.A. Coller Society Clinical Tour and First Place in the Resident Research Competition at the Michigan State University’s Department of Surgery. Dr. Harper’s hospital committee appointments have included the Trauma Committee and the Operating Room Steering Committee at Abington Memorial Hospital. He currently serves on the Infectious Disease Committee at Abington Memorial Hospital and presently the Medical Records Committee at Holy Redeemer Hospital.

Dr. Harper’s professional memberships include the Candidate Group of the American College of Surgeons, a Gold Eagle Member in the Research Foundation of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, Montgomery County Medical Society, American Medical Association, Pennsylvania Medical Society and Ferguson Surgical Society of Grand Rapids, Michigan.
